It's. made of 16-ga. steel on the deck and sides, with an aluminum tailgate. I use a hand-pumped 4-ton porta-power unit to run a hoist that tips the bed. If I ever need the porta-power unit in the shop, I just disconnect four bolts to take it off.
The trailer rides on a framework fitted with a pair of spindles off a snowmobile trailer. Most of the frame comes from scrap angle iron.
