"It can lift two tons up to 15 ft. high with no problem," says Obrecht, who paid $450 for a forklift mast from a lumber yard. He mounted the mast on the 3-pt.'s lower lift arms and mounted a hydraulic cylinder in place of the top link so he could tip the forks.
"We use it to load bags of seed. It can handle sixty 50-lb. bags weighing 3,000 lbs.," says Obrecht. "We use one of the tractor's hydraulic valves for tipping the forklift forward and backward and one for raising the mast. The 3-pt. itself can be used to do some of the tipping, but usually we don't use it for that because it might overload the tractor's hydraulic capacity."
