Go-Cart Made From Walk Behind Mower
"As far as I know there isn't another one in the world like it," says John Jahn, Venice, Fla., who along with his grandson John turned an old Lawn Boy push mower and a toy wagon into a self-propelled "go-cart".
"My grandson John really gets a kick out of driving it. It goes up to 5 mph," says the elder Jahn.

Go-Cart Made From Walk Behind Mower FARM HOME Lawn Mowers (31h,38) 22-6-41 "As far as I know there isn't another one in the world like it," says John Jahn, Venice, Fla., who along with his grandson John turned an old Lawn Boy push mower and a toy wagon into a self-propelled "go-cart".
"My grandson John really gets a kick out of driving it. It goes up to 5 mph," says the elder Jahn.
The rig is made from a rear wheel drive Lawn Boy walk-behind mower. Jahn re-moved the mower's blades and front wheels. Then he joined the mower to a toy wagon (with its rear wheels removed) using a 2 by 4 frame. The cart is steered by pushing the wagon handle left or right.
"I mounted an orange flag on top of a plastic rod that mounts behind the seat so people will see him better whenever he drives the go-cart on the road. He uses a throttle mounted on the right side of the wagon to control engine speed. An ignition key is used to start the engine and a lever on the side en-gages the rear wheel drive."
