Header-Mounted Stalk Chopper STALK CHOPPERS Stalk Choppers 23-2-35 FARM SHOW readers might be interested in the latest developments concerning Harold Fratzke's header-mounted stalk chopper which has been featured in your magazine in the past.
We recently acquired rights to the "Roto Chop" from K&M Manufacturing, Renville, Minn. Chopper blades mount under the header and require a fraction of the horsepower of other header mounted stalk choppers. It features gearboxes that run in oil and greaseable U-joints connecting gearboxes. A long-life #80 roller chain drives the chopper off the combine jackshaft. The 10-in. chopper blades are free-swinging to protect them from rock damage. Blades are reversible, so they'll last from 1,400 to 2,000 acres. Blades are also quickly and easily replaceable.
The system is available for most 4 through 8-row cornheads.
