Big "Swath Turner" Merges Two 8-ft. Swaths Into One SWATHERS Swathers 23-2-30 "Our new swath turner fluffs, inverts, and merges two 8-ft. hay swaths into one, reducing drying and travel time. It's designed for use with haybines that make swaths from 14 to 18 ft. wide," says Rick Lussier, PhiBer Mfg., Crystal City, Manitoba. Operated entirely by tractor hydraulics, the new swath turner is equipped with a pair of 8-ft. wide belt pickups and a pair of 11-ft. wide draper tables that gently move the hay. The draper tables can move swaths either to the left, right, or merge them using controls in the tractor cab. Each draper table can be slid up to 2 ft. to the left or right in order to get the correct swath placement. An adjustable flow control valve allows the operator to vary pickup speed to match ground speed. "It has a lot of capacity and can be used at 6 to 8 mph depending on how heavy the swath is," says Lussier. "It's designed for use with haybines that make swaths from 14 to 18 ft. wide. We can adjust the swath turner at the factory depending on the width of your haybine. We also offer a single pickup model. It requires 6 to 8 gpm oil flow while the double pickup model requires a minimum of 16 gpm. An optional rubber torsion suspension system is available for smoother operation in rough field conditions.
