No Mess Outdoor Electric Grill FARM HOME Food 19-5-35 There's no fire to work up or LP gas to run out of with this new outdoor electric grill which eliminates the mess of charcoal and the bother of gas tanks, says The Thermos Co., Schaumburg, Ill.
The new grill plugs into a standard 110-volt outlet. Other features include side shelves equipped with utensil holders, a lower shelf for additional storage, a timed automatic shutoff, and a thermostat.
"It provides much more even heat distribution - there's less than a 25 degree variance in temperature across the grilling surface - so it cooks more evenly than conventional grills," says a company spokes-man. "You can cook shrimp, vegetables, fruit, etc., without worrying about them falling through because the food rests directly on the cooking surface. The cooking grid has more usable cooking area than larger gas grills and the nonstick coated surface makes it easy to flip food over. Grease is channeled away into a removeable grease cup. The unit runs on only 1,500 watts and costs about 60% less to operate than conventional gas grills."
