Diaper Signals When It's Time For A Change FARM HOME Miscellaneous 22-4-41 This new diaper eliminates the need to check to see if it's time for a change by signaling when it's wet.
The "Next Generation Diaper" is the brain-child of 10-year-old Maria Sausen, who unveiled the idea at the recent Minnesota Inventor's Congress in Redwood Falls, Minn.
Maria got the idea from caring for her younger brother and sister. "I kept having to take their diapers off to see if they were wet," she explains. "Then the tape wouldn't stick to put them back on."
Her new-style diaper features a pH test strip that changes from orange to yellow when it comes in contact with urine, making it easy to tell at a glance when diapers need changing.
Maria is in the process of patenting the idea. She hopes to commercialize the diaper.
