1979 International Scout Made To Look Like 1940's Truck TRUCKS Conversions 22-3-35 I stripped a 1979 International Scout down to the frame and rebuilt the body to make it look like a 1940's era truck. It's fun to drive and gets a lot of looks wherever I go. It's also a great snow-plowing truck. I used 12 ga. steel to make a new body and made a bed that's 4 ft. wide and 5 ft. long. The hood and front fenders are all made as separate pieces. The hood tilts back toward the windshield. After it's open both front fenders can be swung out 180 degrees against the doors, providing "walk-up" access to the engine from three sides.
