High Rise Dryer For Wet Boots, Clothes FARM HOME Food 22-2-37 "It's become one of the handiest pieces of equipment on our farm," says Ron Riem about the "High & Dry" power dryer he in-vented for his own use but which worked so well he put them on the market.
"We farm and we're also avid sportsmen so we needed a way to dry boots, hip waders, hunting jackets and other clothes after a day in the woods or water, or working on the farm in the rain.
"There were shoe dryers on the market but they weren't designed for the kind of heavy use we required. We made the first units for ourselves. With three sons, myself, and a couple of horse-loving spouses, we al-ways had wet, stinky gear all over the laundry room, basement and garage. We had to find a better way to handle our gear. But there was nothing on the market.
"The High & Dry power dryer is fitted with four strong plastic tubes with a fan in a base unit that blows air up through them. The dryer has no heat. Moving air does a good job of drying and is safe for all types of rubber, neoprene, canvas and leather. Most boots and clothing will dry overnight.
"You can use it to dry full-length waders or items as small as kids' mittens or tennis shoes. It runs off 110-volt current. Because we knew it would operate in a wet environment, the electric motor is varnish dipped and has a stainless steel shaft. We've been making units for 5 years and have never had a problem. Cleans up easily with soap and water.
Waders and boots can be slipped right over the straight tubes. Three tube lengths are available. A clothes-drying accessory is avaiable to fit across the top of two tubes to hold coats, overalls, snowmobile suits, etc.
"Wives like the High & Dry because it keeps dirty clothes out of their dryer and hunters like it because it keeps the smell of fabric softeners out of their clothes."
Sells for $79.99 fitted with four 12-in. long boot drying tubes. Can be equipped with full length tubes for waders and jackets for about $10 extra. The clothes drying attachment sells for $19.99.
