"Bucket" Hitch Adds Versatility To Skid Steer Loaders HITCHES Hitches 21-5-13 "It's the fastest way I know of to turn a loader into a multi-purpose tool," says Leroy Stumpe about the new "Bucket Hitch" he unveiled at the recent South Dakota Inventors Congress in Brookings.
It consists of a frame made out of 2-in. sq. tubing that attaches to a skid steer loader bucket. An anchor bracket welds or bolts to the back lip of the bucket and a second bracket clamps onto the cutting edge of the bucket.
With the hitch frame in place, your bucket can be fitted with a variety of hitches or attachments. For example, if you want to move a bumper pull or gooseneck trailer, use the ball hitch. "One of the handiest uses I've found for it is moving grain augers over to bins," Stumpe notes.
"Now I can use the loader to move implements around or do other jobs like blade the driveway," he says.
Designed for Bobcat skid steer buckets, work is underway to adapt it to virtually any skid steer, as well as some front-end loaders.
Basic package - anchor, frame and ball hitch - will sell for $180, he says.
