"The design eliminates the need for a center bar, giving the cow all the clearance she needs to lunge forward when getting up," explains inventor-manufacturer A. Cliff Bakx. "Conventional stalls have something in the way to obstruct her natural movement. With ours, if she hits the stall divider when getting up, it swings up and out of the way without bruising her. If a cow can't get up because of sickness or death, the stall divider can be manually raised up and out of the way. If you need an extra pen or box stall, just lift up a few stall dividers and put in a temporary gate. "Stall dividers, made of thick wall 2.5 in. galvanized pipe, are heavy enough so cattle won't play with them, yet light enough to swing up and out of harm's way if bumped by cows as they get up. Since there's very little bearing on the front pivoting hinge, stalls generally can be wall mounted. In most cases, stalls only 45 in. wide provide ample stretching room for cows."
