The 1,450 lb. rig fits on Cat. 3, 3-pt. hitches. You simply back the rig up to the rock and tip the unit into the ground so its two 42-in. long teeth, spaced 15-in. apart, slide under the rock. Next, you close the grapple arm over the rock and lift it out. The rig can dig 30-in. deep and can also be used to push dirt back into the hole left by the rock.
To move a round hay bale, you backup to it, slide the teeth under, then close the arm over the bale. For bales larger than 4-ft. in dia., the grapple arm can be extended 9-in. by changing two bolts.
Shirek notes that the rig can also be used for pulling tree stumps. It requires two 8-in. hydraulic cylinders.
Sells for $2,000, not including the cylinders.
