The Ag-Tech toolbar consists of a heavy-duty A-frame that fits Cat. I & II 3-pts. Large hardened steel pins - with big-looped handles for easy pull-out - hold any of a number of tools in place, including a line layer, cable puller, ripper (can be used to cut roots), ditcher, sod cutter, parabolic ripper, and cultivator.
Henry says he's had tremendous interest in the line layer which lets farmers lay electrical lines, telephone lines, and other cables at depths from 14 to 24 in. using small to medium-size tractors. "It's a relatively inexpensive piece of equipment that lets you wire up all the buildings on the farm at minimal expense," he notes.
The line layer consists of a straight shank with a protective chute on back. Lets you direct-feed electrical line without the need to pull them through the ground. Attachments International also makes a cable puller which is ideal for pulling in shallow water
lines or extra heavy cables.
The deep ripper shank is ideal for breaking up hardpan on small fields or for large gardens or nurseries or on construction sites. It can also be used to prune roots on hedge rows to stop encroachment into farm fields.
Two widths of ditchers are available. "They work great for quick ditching of wet fields," notes Henry.
Shanks are available in sizes that work from 14 to 24 in. deep, depending on tractor size. An entire package consisting of the 3-pt. toolbar and all 8 tools sells for $1,100. The price for the toolbar and one attachment averages $500 to $550.
