The "first-of-its-kind" light mounts on a 6-in. flexible tube, allowing it to move 90?in either direction. There's an on-off switch on the back of the sealed bulb, 4-in. dia. light. According to Wolfe and Vagle, the detach-able utility light produces as much light as a conventional tractor headlamp.
Key to its success is a universal "taper lock" mounting bracket design that lets you simply wedge the taper lock and adapter into the mounting hole and twist it so it locks into place. This feature makes it easy to point the light in any direction. To allow for vertical or horizontal mounting of the light, each heavy duty plastic bracket has three 1/ 4 in. dia. holes. To remove the light, simply twist the taper lock as you pull it out. You can then attach a magnetic holder to the light and carry the light to wherever you need it. A 10-ft. electric cord, which attaches to the battery with "alligator clips", supplies the power. "You can either hold it like a flashlight, or use our magnetic bracket for hands-free operation," notes Wolfe.
You can mount the bracket anywhere on a tractor, combine, or implement, and inter-change the light between rigs. "Most other utility lights require permanent mounting,"
notes Vagle. "The only way you can reposition them is with a wrench. So, most farmers end up buying several utility lights for their equipment. You can use our light anywhere, and aim it in any direction or angle. In fact, you can mount several brackets, in strategic location. Just use one light for all of them.
The light, with one plastic mounting bracket and 10 ft. of electric cord, sells for $24.95, plus $3.50 for shipping and handling. The portable magnetic mount sells for an additional $10. Each extension adapter costs $3. Dealer inquiries are welcome.
